In this Articulate Storyline project, I meticulously crafted a scenario-based branching story, immersing learners in the real-world managerial challenges encountered by a new manager, Maria, as she navigates her first performance review with an employee, Razia. This interactive eLearning module places users in control, making critical decisions on Maria’s behalf, with each choice significantly affecting the performance review's outcome and Razia’s career progression.
This project showcases my expertise in creating immersive, relatable scenarios that prompt learners to engage in critical thinking and decision-making, simulating the complexities of real-life managerial situations. My Process
In crafting my most recent instructional design project, I drew inspiration from my firsthand encounters with performance reviews. Understanding their critical role in career advancement, I set out to develop a learning resource tailored to those undergoing their initial performance evaluations. Utilizing the proven ADDIE model and action mapping techniques, this project was designed with a focus on educational effectiveness and applicability.
The development process commenced with an in-depth exploration and reflection on my personal journey, supplemented by insights from ChatGPT as an additional knowledge source. This dual approach ensured the content's richness and precision.
Aiming to simulate the complexities of workplace decisions, I engineered branching scenarios that reflect the nuanced choices professionals face and their potential impacts. This preparation included scripting detailed scenarios and crafting challenging, scenario-based questions to enhance learners' critical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
To visualize these scenarios, I leveraged Vyond for its exceptional ability to present intricate subjects in a captivating, visual narrative. The animated content was then intricately woven into an Articulate Storyline framework, enriched with interactive elements to create an engaging, learner-centric experience.
